Empowering Local Communities and Promoting Sustainable Growth
Our approach to social inclusion is anchored in our commitment to uplift the lives of people in the communities we operate in, while ensuring the long-term viability and success of our business. In this spirit, we have implemented various initiatives to integrate and support independent smallholders, cooperatives, and other stakeholders within our supply chain, fostering mutual prosperity for all involved.
Promoting Mutual Prosperity through Community Involvement
The principle of mutual prosperity, deeply rooted in the values of DSN Group’s founders, drives our commitment to create sustainable income sources and indirect economic values for both our employees and the communities around our operational sites. We actively involve the community in various aspects of our supply chain, including raw material and agricultural equipment supply, vehicle rental, building construction, air conditioning services, and food supply for employees and their families residing within our operational areas.
Fostering Economic Opportunities through Local Transportation Services
For many years, we have actively supported the local community by sourcing FFB transportation services from within the region. In 2022, we contracted 623 locally-owned trucks, involving approximately 1,246 individuals (assuming each truck was operated by a driver and an assistant), contributing to the local economy and creating valuable employment opportunities
In Our Wood Business
In line with our 2023 plan, up to May 2023, we have distributed approximately 1.64 million Jabon seedlings (without any charges) to 8,348 smallholder farmers involved in our smallholder farmers program. We have also catalized a Community Brick Building business from the waste material of our Wood Factory’s Boiler near our wood factory in Temanggong to uplift the the livelihoods of the local community there.
