Disclosure Total Area Managed

In the 2023 Public Report, there are three data sources for the total area managed by DSNG: Sustainability Report, Annual Report, and RSPO ACOP.

  1. The total area under management in the AR on page 4 & 5 is 112,700 Ha, which consists of 84,800 Ha of nucleus plantation + 27,900 Ha of plasma plantation (rounding factor).
  2. The total area under management in the SR on pages 4 & 41 is 112,673 Ha, comprising 84,815 Ha of core plantations + 27,858 Ha of smallholdings.
  3. The total concession area in ACOP is 135,383 Ha, consisting of 84,815 Ha of plantation + 24,852 Ha of plasma + 8,728 Ha of HCV + 16,988 Ha of Unplanted. The total area under management is 109,667 Ha consisting of 84,815 Ha of core plantations + 24,824 Ha of plasma plantations that are fully operational.

The difference is due to rounding in our AR, and the ACOP figure excludes the SAPRODI area of 3006 Ha (which is independent smallholder). SAPRODI area is not included as there are no plans for RSPO certification.

In the 2024 Public Report, there are two data sources that differ for DSNG’s total managed area between the Sustainability Report and the Annual Report with the RSPO ACOP.

  1. The total managed area under SR & AR is 110,700 hectares, consisting of 82,800 hectares of nucleus plantations and 27,900 hectares of plasma plantations (rounding factor).
  2. The total concession area under ACOP is 131,245 hectares, consisting of 82,800 hectares of nucleus plantations, 4,226 hectares of infrastructure, 24,902 hectares of plasma plantations, 8,733 hectares of HCV, 1,572 hectares of unplanted land, and 9,012 hectares of other managed land. The total managed area is 107,702 hectares, consisting of 82,800 hectares of nucleus plantations and 24,902 hectares of fully operational plasma plantations.

Clarifying the difference is caused by rounding of SR & AR with ACOP figures, which does not include the SAPRODI area of 3,006 Ha (which is for independent farmers), 4,226 Ha of infrastructure, 8,733 Ha of HCV area, 1,572 Ha of unplanted land, and 9,012 Ha of other managed land. SAPRODI area is not included as there are no plans for RSPO certification.
