Integrating Social Inclusion, Food Security, and Alternative Livelihoods for Holistic Community Development
The Company is committed to promoting sustainable development within the communities surrounding its operational areas by implementing the principle of shared prosperity. This effort not only involves local communities in the business value chain but also ensures the sustainability and resilience of their livelihoods. Communities contribute as suppliers of raw materials, transportation, and construction services, as well as food providers for employees and their families.
Throughout 2025, the Company implemented 15 economic empowerment initiatives involving women’s groups, youth, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) based on local wisdom around the palm oil business unit concession. These programs included business development in non-palm oil sectors, such as coffee, honey, fisheries, chicken farming, maintenance and repair services, environmental management, MSME development, and community-based arts and ecotourism groups, with an investment cost of IDR 812 million. By December 2025, this initiative is expected to generate potential community income of IDR 329 million, reflecting the program’s contribution to increasing local economic activity through a Social Return on Investment (SROI)-based mentoring approach.
Additionally, the Company also generates indirect economic impacts through the implementation of CSR programs in the infrastructure sector. This infrastructure supports the smooth mobility of people and goods and expands access to economic activities, thereby creating indirect economic impacts through improved accessibility and efficiency of local economic activities.
DSNG promotes community economic independence through the development of non-palm oil businesses and strengthening local institutions. The company supports various initiatives such as transportation services, Miau rice development, traditional crafts, and horticulture. This program includes business mentoring, management training, and facilitating economic access for community groups.
DSNG is collaborating with the Miau Baru Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) to strengthen the local rice supply chain, reduce logistics costs, and reduce emissions. By 2025, 13% of the company’s rice needs will be met by 300 local farmers who receive and gain employment opportunities in the cultivation, milling, and distribution sectors. DSNG also provides training on egg-laying chicken farming for village communities in East Kalimantan. This training covers all stages of cultivation, from breeding and coop management to marketing and production management. In the Muara Wahau area of East Kalimantan, by the end of 2025, 12 beneficiaries delivered 222 bundles of eggs (priced at Rp 318,000/bunch) with a total income of Rp 12.37 million.
