Community Engagement
DSN Group prioritises community engagement and upholds the principle of Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) in our operations. We assess social and environmental impacts in a participatory manner, which is integrated into the Environmental Impact Assessment (AMDAL) document, to ensure that community voices are heard and respected.
Our CSR function adopts a participatory and consultative approach to managing social impacts, implementing livelihood and community empowerment programmes that focus on health, business opportunities, and support for vulnerable groups and low-income families. We emphasise FPIC in our interactions with communities to guarantee their right to participate in decision-making processes that affect them.
Since 2021, DSNG is committed to conduct and regularly update Environmental and Social Impact Assessments in own operational areas. This commitment also applies to all suppliers and is realised by providing assistance to suppliers to jointly identify & assess their Environmental & Social Impacts in their area.
In addition, we also continue to communicate with suppliers on the FPIC Protocol, NDPE Policy, Human Rights and Labour, Programme Evaluation & Preparation, Code of Conduct, grievance mechanism, and accessible documents to improve social and environmental responsibility performance.
