Stepping with the Spirit of Learning, Working with the Heart
To embark on a meaningful career journey, it’s essential to possess the courage to keep learning, venture beyond the comfort zone, and collaborate with individuals from diverse fields.
Deciding to pursue a career in engineering is not easy, especially for a woman. But that’s where my journey began—with a passion for learning and contributing.
Upon completing my studies, I pursued a career as an engineering consultant before joining DSNG through the Excellent Future Leader (EIFFEL) program. This management trainee program provided me with a thorough understanding of the company’s business and technical facets. My first year was filled with intensive training in technical and leadership skills. This is where I saw a great opportunity to innovate and collaborate with many parties.
My initial rotation in the wood business was a pivotal point in understanding the meaning of sustainability more fully. Here I learned that sustainable business is not just about good systems, but also about building partnerships that are aligned and mutually supportive. Through the community forest partnership program, the company not only involves timber farmers as part of the supply chain, but also assists so that planting and logging practices are carried out responsibly and following sustainability principles. This commitment to grow together is what makes me proud to be part of DSNG.
During my next rotation, I had the opportunity to join the palm oil business line within the Engineering & Projects division. There, I expanded my knowledge of the CPO production process and learned how important energy efficiency and management are to operations. One of the most interesting experiences was when I was directly involved in developing a strategy to utilize renewable energy through an energy balance approach, including the development of bioCNG as an in-situ energy source for operational energy needs—a field full of potential. For me, this involvement is not just about technology. It is also about making a real contribution towards a green energy future.
DSNG is more than just a place to work; it is a growth space for every employee. The company fosters self-development through a variety of activities, including technical and managerial training, continuous improvement competitions that stimulate innovation, and opportunities to benchmark with other companies to expand one’s horizons. This journey taught me an essential lesson: to venture beyond the confines of your comfort zone and remain receptive to new experiences is paramount for both personal and professional development.
I hope young people, especially Generation Z, have the courage to pioneer a career oriented not only toward personal achievement but also toward having a positive impact on their surroundings. In this period of change and new possibilities, it is essential to build a career that is both fulfilling and sustainable.
