From Admiration to Commitment: My Journey with DSN
Before joining DSN, I worked for another company in the Wahau area. Every weekend, while traveling with my family, I would see the streets filled with buses and small vehicles bearing the DSN logo. This made an impression on me—how this company cared so much about its employees, even helping them shop for basic necessities in the village every week.
My admiration grew even stronger when I learned how DSN handled the pandemic. When lockdowns were imposed and workers had to isolate, DSN provided its employees with additional incentives and staples. This is a form of care that I did not find in my previous workplace.
I was also involved in commissioning a factory in a border area with DSN. When we explored cooperating with the local community, they often compared our company to DSN in a positive way. According to them, DSN treats its partners fairly and transparently. At the time, I could only respond that our company was not as large as DSN.
These experiences shaped my conviction: DSN is a company that takes social and environmental responsibility seriously. That’s what encouraged me to join. On May 15, 2022, I officially became part of the DSN family.
I have pursued a career in the palm oil industry since 2004, working for four different companies before finally joining DSN. Previously, I served as Senior Mill Manager. At DSN, however, I was given a new challenge: Mill Performance and Maintenance Section Head for the Kaltim 3 region. In this role, I provide technical support to two mills: PT BPN and PT BAS.
I analyzed mill performance from various angles in this role, including machine reliability, energy efficiency, and operational cost effectiveness. I also engaged in intense discussions with the operations team to identify opportunities for improvement that would impact productivity and efficiency. I am even more enthusiastic because DSN is open to adopting new technology as long as there is a solid ROI analysis.
Moving forward, I hope that DSN continues to excel in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects to remain the preferred choice of stakeholders and grow into a world-class company. I also hope to continue developing myself through the various training programs, seminars, and workshops the DSN Group offers.
