Positive Thinking Through All-Line Synergy

By Septian – MPM Kaltim 1

Success is not about where you start, but how you progress.

The Beginning of Independence:

For millennials like me, the world of work provides a clear picture of independence. Through a continuous process of effort to reach the highest achievements, nothing is impossible.

Many of the things I imagined during my time in college proved to be true in the professional world at the beginning of my career. Struggle, consistency, and curiosity are the initial steps in developing competence and skills over time. Ten years is a long time to build a career and hone skills in any field, especially in the palm oil industry.

At one point in the first company I joined, my comfort zone became a shackle, making me question whether to stay or not.

Stepping out of the comfort zone is the first challenge.

Stepping into a new atmosphere and trying to adapt is the first challenge. The desire to improve one’s career and life is universal, including myself.

My second career episode after entering DSNG started at one of the palm oil mills, where I faced many difficulties with determination and independence. Within three years, I progressed from one mill to another. In the end, I was allowed to become the head of the mill at PKS 5 in Central Kalimantan.

Turmoil:

One of the factories had a history of low performance, so it became my personal mission to restore it to standard. I devoted all my thoughts and energy to getting things back on track. Together with a solid team, we started from scratch. Consistency and perseverance are key to improvement.

Turning Point:

The DSNG value, which has always guided the entire PKS 5 team, is not limited to sweetness in the mouth. Rather, we apply it day after day to turn things around. Two-way communication made us realize that we don’t need to dwell on the downturn; we can use it as motivation to improve everything. “Improvement” is how my team and I strive to be the best.

Ending with a smile.

Heavy steps become lighter. The improvement in the mentality, chemistry, and performance of all the personalities at PKS 5 was proven by the end of the year. “Effort will not betray results” is an old saying that has proven true. We achieved the best mill for the regional level, which proves that we always step up without hesitating about when and where to start. DSNG management’s support is also one of the catalysts that encouraged our young team to work more exploratively and wholeheartedly.

It has been a proud career experience to be part of DSNG, where my team and I still feel maximum support and motivation to this day. Consistency is the key to success.

My message to Gen Zers who are struggling in the palm oil industry, especially those who are part of DSNG, is this:

Don’t hesitate to grow your career. Manage your time and opportunities wisely because sustainability is DSNG’s vision and mission for our future.

Thank you, DSNG.
DSNG is always victorious!
