DSNG’s Revenue and Profits in 2024 See Meaningful Growth
Jakarta, 28 February 2025 – PT Dharma Satya Nusantara Tbk (“the Company” or “DSNG”) reported a substantial increase in net profit, reaching Rp 1.1 trillion in 2024, a 35.6% year-on-year (YoY) growth. This growth was primarily driven by a 6.5% rise in DSNG’s sales, which totaled Rp 10.1 trillion, along with operational cost efficiencies, particularly from lower fertilizer costs within the palm oil segment. The palm oil segment remained the dominant contributor to DSNG’s revenue, accounting for 87% of total sales.
The sales growth was largely influenced by a higher average selling price (ASP) for Crude Palm Oil (CPO) throughout 2024, attributed to reduced production output and increased domestic consumption demand, bolstered by implementing the B-35 biodiesel program.
Andrianto Oetomo, President Director of PT Dharma Satya Nusantara Tbk, commented, “2024 posed significant challenges for the Company. The El Nino phenomenon, which spanned from June 2023 to April 2024, affected palm plantation productivity throughout the year, reducing CPO production. However, this situation led to a rise in ASP due to the reduced CPO supply.”
DSNG’s Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) production declined by 7% YoY, from 2.2 million tons to 2.1 million tons in 2024. The purchase of FFB from external suppliers also dropped by 23% YoY, resulting in a 12% reduction in total FFB processed. Despite this, the Oil Extraction Rate (OER) improved by 3%, reaching 23.9%, which helped mitigate the 9% YoY decline in CPO production, which totaled 602 thousand tons. Additionally, the Free Fatty Acid (FFA) level decreased to 2.86%, positioning DSNG’s CPO as a premium product.
The wood products segment faced ongoing challenges in 2024, primarily due to a sluggish global property market, driven by persistently high interest rates and economic slowdowns in developed countries. Panel sales volume increased by 17%, reaching 116 thousand m³, although the average selling price decreased by 7% to Rp 5.7 million per m³. Meanwhile, engineered flooring sales volume declined by 15%, totaling 738 thousand m², but the average selling price rose by 13%, reaching Rp 519 thousand per m².
Despite a 7% YoY increase in sales to Rp 1.15 trillion, the wood products segment incurred a loss of Rp 16 billion in 2024, marking its first loss in nearly a decade.
In the Renewable Energy (RE) business segment, DSNG achieved sales of Rp 182.8 billion from palm kernel shell (PKS) sales, with both sales volume and ASP increasing by 135% and 8% YoY, respectively.
The Company also reported a 7.6% YoY increase in total assets to Rp 17.4 trillion, up from Rp 16.2 trillion in 2023, primarily due to an additional strategic investment of Rp 1.3 trillion in its associate entity, REA Kaltim. On the other hand, liabilities grew by 3.1% YoY to Rp 7.5 trillion, while equity increased by 11.3% YoY to Rp 9.8 trillion, reflecting the Company’s strong financial position and robust asset growth.
