Investments

DSN Group is committed to the principles of responsible investment. We will invest continually to reduce or mitigate our impact to the environment and bring positive impact to the community where we operate. We want to do more with less and in this journey we shall strive to report to our stakeholders our progress, especially with our efforts to increase the use of renewable energy and resources.

Renewables
DSN Group is committed to develop and implement plans to further increase the efficiency of fuel consumption, optimize renewable energy and expand the utilization of our Biomass resources. These measures would complement our existing efforts to substitute the use of diesel fuel  with a renewable resource such as fiber and shells, as well as methane capture and BioCNG units for power generation and gas fuel production. We want to do more with less and in this journey we shall strive to report to our stakeholders our progress, especially with our efforts to increase the use of renewable energy and resources.

In 2019, our mills using the renewable energy from 485,803 ton shell and fiber, which is equivalent to 6,296,426 GJ energy.

DSN Group understands that conserving water means using our water supply responsibly. As every individual depends on water for their livelihood, we must learn how to keep our limited supply of water pure as it is increasingly threatened with supply pressures aggravated by climate change and pollution. This starts with our environmental commitments for water treatment as well as conservation at our estates and mills. DSN Group is committed to diligently tracks and monitors our site water use as well as investing in processes designed to reduce and mitigate our impact on water quality.

Roads & Access

DSN Group invests a considerable amount of resource in roads and access to its estates and mills. Better roads and access delivers many levels of efficiencies, right down from increasing fuel efficiencies to ensuring quality fresh fruit bunches and raw materials that in turn allows us to produce high quality premium CPO. DSN Group has also helped provide public infrastructure, including roads, bridges, public area, and places of worship. For the purposes of transporting FFB, PK, CPO, and PKO, also logistics, DSN Group builds access roads by paying attention to safety principles, both for employees and the community.

As much as possible, DSN Group has separated the production access road from the road used by the employees and the community to build in safety and promote efficiencies. Road maps and signs have been created and socialized. Several points of intersection of the production roads and the roads used by employee/ community are given special signs and security, such as speed bumps to slow down the vehicle speed.

Employees are a major asset and important stakeholder for us. Therefore, DSN Group actively practices diversity in the workplace and does not tolerate discrimination based on religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, political persuasion, race, marital status, ethnicity or age in recruitment, dismissal or promotion.
