As part of our vision to grow together with the community, DSN believes that a harmonious relationship with the communities around the plantations is very important. DSN respects human rights, including the rights of indigenous and local communities, as well as other landowners, and we implement methods of Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) in our land development process.
DSN ensures that palm oil production from plasma estate and third parties community estates are also included within the supply chain for the production of sustainable palm oil. DSN committed to facilitate our community partners and support them through consultation and technical guidance.
In our operations, DSN places high importance and care about the preservation of the environment around the site. This effort starts from land clearing by adapting the no-burning policy, both for new plantings and replanting. DSN also avoids development in peatlands and areas with high carbon reserves. DSN is also committed to preserve areas that have High Conservation Value (HCV) and avoid development in such areas.
In line with the above statements, DSN seeks an ongoing basis to obtain the best method in order to preserve biodiversity and natural forest vegetation including a ban on hunting of protected animals and prevention of environmental pollution around the plantations.
